Mission: Our mission is to provide students with a well rounded, technical education, in the arts, and the experience to meet the standards of the communications industry.
Commercial Art Technology consists of two programs: Commercial Art Technology 1 – K600100 (900 hours) and Commercial Art Technology 2 – K600200 (600 hours).
It is recommended that students complete Commercial Art Technology 1 or demonstrate mastery of the outcomes of the program prior to enrollment in Commercial Art Technology 2.
These programs consist of a planned sequence of courses.
Commercial Art Technology 1
Desktop Publishing Assistant
- Course GRA0036 (450 Hours) – Training includes basic commercial art knowledge, graphic production, graphic art computer skills, applied mathematics, basic science, and employability skills.
Design Technician
- Course GRA0037 (450 Hours) – Training includes design skills, typography, layout and prepress, applied design, and graphic art computer skills.
Commercial Art Technology 2
Illustrator
- Course GRA0038 (300 Hours) – Training includes technical art skills, applied design, graphic art computer skills, and computer airbrush skills.
Print Media Artist
- Course GRA0039 (300 Hours) – Training includes technical art skills, graphic art computer skills, and entrepreneurship.
