Mission:
The mission of this program is to prepare students for initial employment as computer electronic technicians, computer network technicians, and computer service technicians.
Computer Systems Technology consists of two programs: Computer Systems Technology 1 – J500100 (900 hours) and Computer Systems Technology 2 – J500200 (750 hours).
It is recommended that students complete Computer Systems Technology 1 or demonstrate mastery of the outcomes of the program prior to enrollment in Computer Systems Technology 2.
These programs consist of a planned sequence of courses.
Computer Systems Technology 1
End User Support Technician
- Course EEV0501 (450 Hours) – Training includes software fundamentals, customer relations, communication skills, and employability skills.
PC Electronics Installer
-Course EEV0502 (150 Hours) – Training includes soldering and basic laboratory practices, D.C. circuits, applied mathematics, basic science, and A.C. circuits.
Computer Support Specialist
- Course EEV0503 (300 Hours) – Training includes computer systems architecture and peripheral equipment. Emphasis is placed on A+ certification.
Computer Systems Technology 2
Field Service Technician
-Course EEV0506 (300 Hours) – Training includes electronic information exchange, and site requirements and considerations. Emphasis is placed on Network+ certification.
Digital Electronics Technician
- Course EEV0508 (450 Hours) - Training includes digital circuits, fundamental microprocessors, and entrepreneurship.

Industry Certification(s):
Students have the option to prepare for the A+ certification and the Network+ certification test. Skills acquired in the program may also be used in preparing for Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE).
