Web Design Services

Mission: The mission of this program is designed to prepare students for employment in the business field, specializing in Web/Internet/Intranet services industry.

Program BO70500 consists of a planned sequence of courses.

Information Technology Assistant - Course OTA0040 (150 Hours) – This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends and to introduce students to the basics and foundations required for today’s business environments. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency with touch keyboarding and fundamental computer applications so they may be used as communication tools for enhancing personal and work-place proficiency in an information-based society. This also includes proficiency with computers using word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software that meet industry standards. Job seeking techniques, career planning, and success strategies will also be developed.

Assistant Web Designer - Course CTS0076 (300 Hours) – Builds on the skills introduced in Course OTA0040 and includes Web hosting concepts, the development of web sites using FTP, HTML, Java Script, XML, CSS, Expression Web, SEO, Dreamweaver, and copyright laws. At this point students will be qualified to develop basic web sites for customers.

Web Designer - Course CTS0077 (300 Hours) – Includes all intended outcomes of Courses OTA0040 and CTS0076 and teaches students how to use Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator to develop and enhance a web site. Students at this point will be able to develop moderately complex web sites.

Senior Web Designer - Course CTS0078 (300 Hours) – Requires that all intended outcomes of Courses OTA0040, CTS0076, and CTS0077 be completed before pursuing this competency area, students will learn PHP and MySQL, After Effects and Blogging. Upon completion of Course CTS0078 you will be qualified to develop complex web sites.
