Mission: The mission of this program is to prepare students for careers in the electronics and high-technology industries, as assemblers, testers, repair personnel, and electronics technicians.
Electronic Technology consists of two programs: Electronic Technology 1 – J540100 (650 hours) and Electronic Technology 2 – J540200 (750 hours).
It is recommended that students must complete Electronic Technology 1 or demonstrate mastery of the outcomes of the program prior to enrollment in Electronic Technology 2.
These programs consist of a planned sequence of courses.
Electronic Technology 1
Electronics Assembler - Course EEV0010 (250 Hours) – Training includes basic computer usage, soldering and laboratory practices, applied mathematics, D.C. circuits, employability skills, and entrepreneurship.
Electronics Tester - Course EEV0100 (400 Hours) – Training includes advanced D.C. and A.C. circuits, semiconductor devices and basic analog circuits.
Electronic Technology 2
Electronics Equipment Repairer - Course EEV0500 (375 Hours) – Training includes digital circuits and fundamental microprocessors.
Electronics Technician - Course EEV0616 (375 Hours) – Training includes analog circuits, technical recording, communication skills, applied mathematics, and basic science.
