Full-Time Programs
Mission: The mission of this program is to prepare students for entry-level positions as industrial machinery maintenance assistants or machinery maintenance mechanics. The program focuses on broad transferable skills that may be applied to diverse types of industrial machinery. Training incorporates curriculum developed by the State of Florida and the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI).
Industrial Machinery Maintenance consists of two programs: Industrial Machinery Maintenance 1 – J590100 (750 Hours) and Industrial Machinery Maintenance 2 – J590200 (600 Hours).
It is recommended that students complete Industrial Machinery Maintenance 1 or demonstrate mastery of the outcomes of the program prior to enrollment in Industrial Machinery Maintenance 2.
These programs consist of a planned sequence of courses.
Industrial Machinery Maintenance 1
Industrial Machinery Maintenance Assistant - Course ETI0450 (450 Hours) – Training includes safety rules and procedures, basic physics, basic electricity and electronics, applied mathematics, measuring and layout operations, hand tools, power tools, lubricants, bench work skills, gas welding and cutting, rigging functions, machinery installation and removal, conveyor maintenance techniques, basic troubleshooting techniques, communication skills, employability skills, entrepreneurship, and customer service.
Machinery Maintenance Mechanic, 1 of 2 - Course ETI0456 (300 Hours) – Training includes pedictive-preventive maintenance, gas and arch welding procedures, machine shop operations, piping and tubing systems, electrical and electronic troubleshooting, drive component installation and maintenance, air compressor maintenance, hydraulic system components and troubleshooting, pneumatic systems, fluid drive systems, robotic systems, pump maintenance, pollution control systems, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, boilers, and internal combustion engines.
Industrial Machinery Maintenance 2
Machinery Maintenance Technician, 2 of 2 - Course ETI0457 (150 Hours) – Training includes: Gas, arc welding and cutting procedures, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, boilers and internal combustion engines, machine shop operations, piping and tubing systems.
Industrial Maintenance Specialist - Course ETI0458 (450 Hours) – Training includes: Automated controls and robotic systems, rigging functions, machinery installation and removal, conveyor maintenance techniques, drive mechanism alignment, vibration analysis and pollution control systems.
